Then you have the whole ending where it's clear Rika doesn't know about Hanyuu being back (since she talks with Satoko about them being the only two eternal looping existences). And when she gets there, Satoko stops going back to the sea of fragments in order to avoid any interactions between them. Then you have Hanyuu basically lying to Rika about dying when she was actually going to confront Eua. No more acknowledging a Hanyuu who left/disappeared in third person. But then in Sotsu's final arc that's all shoved aside and both in internal monologues and talking with other people she's treated just like she were the original Hanyuu. There was even the whole "no auau" bit, which even gets referenced directly in Sotsu. ![]() In Gou, she has several lines where she references herself as just a "lingering scent" left by Hanyuu, referencing "Hanyuu" herself in third person several times, even a line about how the Hanyuu who disappeared wouldn't have wanted that meeting with Rika. The whole handling of Hanyuu towards that conclusion felt really weird in several ways.
